Party Points Pricey
Just wondering what the deal is with party points being so much more expensive than drunkard/sweets. I mean... I guess I can see why for drunkard because that's a long title to get but for sweets shouldn't it be equal?
Supply & demand. Supply: The same as sweet and drunkard points.... Demand: Is everyone and their mom going for the title and sellers are taking advantage of that? Anyway... yeah I'm going for it too but this is so costly it's making it difficult lolz. |

there are sweets and alc @ mercants for 200g/ea, so noone would sell for that price, as anyone can get them from merch instead, no party items @ merch so thay can just go 200 gold ..

Supply: unlike party items, booze and sweets are readily available from merchants, setting a hard upper limit to their value. Furthermore, it's easier to farm booze and sweets than party points (right now, 2 Superb Charr Carvings trade for a Spiked Eggnog (3 drunkard points) or a Snowman Summoner (1 party point)). The only festival with abundant supply of party points is the Canthan New Year.
Demand: the party title track is a later addition. Thus, many people already have the other two titles. Furthermore, people may prefer to max party over drunkard despite the price difference because of the awkward way in which you are forced to consume booze. Also, party items have external effects that make them desirable to even those who are not going for the title. |

what tmakinen said. That is the case exactly. (Although you forgot, the Dragon Festival has just as abundant amount of party items)

I think tmakinen meant the visual effects from the party items. Sweets give you in-town speed and most give you buffs outside town, but most people don't seem to use them for buffs.

Interesting thread. I was wondering also why Party points are more expensive, and the answers are pretty good.
And yes Drunkard title is a bit extreme. GG those who maxed it. |

Yep prices are realy huge on party items, 200g pieces is smallest amount u can pay for Snowman Summoners these days and drops are not so good (i got much more sugar, alcohol).Anyway al of us who go for Party title can just wait Canthan New Year, drops then gonna be mostly party items and the prices should go down to 100-150g per point.
Drunkard title is ridiculous, not for price or availability of alcohol, but because it takes huge amount of time standing and clickin which in my case translates in BOREDOM of huge proportions! |

By 'abundant supply' I meant that during the CNY there is a crafter for party items, at around 200g per point for the current material prices (but you'll have to stockpile them in advance since the pertinent materials will be sold out by the festival) and thus at least in principle you can have an unlimited amount of party items in a short time (or until you run out of dust).
The Dragon Festival is the best opportunity to get Creme Brulee and it's better to farm it for trading than to use the limited time for other pursuits. Yes, forgot the speed boost from sweets, but in practice whenever there's a need for speed boost there's also a good supply of sweets available exceeding the demand for the buff. |

As many have said before party items are limited to when you can get them being a few tonics for halloween, and tonics for wintersday, and for the CDF and newyears they are abundant but for getting them all year long your only choice is Secret Lair of the Snowman over and over for summoners.
As for drunkard its not that hard and only attempting it or has gotten it mostly likely used a G15 keyboard macro or a auto-clicker and Anet knows this. IMO when they did the title update a few months back they should of changed drunkard to drink a booze get the points. LV5=3 points LV1=1 point this way it would cut back on people afking and using other programs or macro to get a silly title, also this would make it consistent with the other two titles that are click and get. ~Zidane~ |

Another reason could be the double party point weekend; Gaile's goodbye party.
Party points were going for double the amount they'd usually go for, after the party, the price never really went down much, and the possibility of another double party point weekend, might be the reason the prices stay high. |

Yeah, this is something I've encountered aswell. I bought all my alc and paid for sweet tooth, so this is my last one...I dont plan to farm the ecto needed to buy all the crap till mid next year.
And even though its wintersday, farming for stuff to trade in for summoners/tonics has just gotten so boring, I've accepted that I won't have the title maxed for some time. |

I honestly don't see the party points going to 100-150g per point even after the CNY. Still loads more demand than supply. Alcohol and sugar is much more readily available yet they are both still 100-150g per point or more in some cases.
As stated there is a constant supply for sugar and booze if wanted (not just from merchants, there are collectors, and for the booze you can trade in items like the Battle Commendations) I think another big part of them being high is that there is no 3 point party items, most is 2 points, and that is from tonics which you have to go zone to zone to use.

Thanks for the answers I think I understand why now. GJ Anet haha. Yeah maxed drunkard and sweet tooth and this is my last one but it's costing about twice as much (QQ). Anyway, thanks again. I might just farm gold during wintersday and buy fireworks at canthan new year or whatever.

Plus the Z Chest generates far more alcohol/sweet points than it does party.

Now AMEN to this if ever to happen !!! I mean it would be just normal and could avoid people been banned for macros, and would cut the time for Drunkard title from some huge 160 hrs to normal proportions (u still would have to obtain Alcohol) pay for it or farm it !!! |
